Chairs have legs and sometimes will include arms, but when it comes to seats, you spend an arm and a leg on a chair to get neither. Just a torso with a detachable headrest. That’s creepy, kin. And sport seats don’t even give you that! Spend more for sporty and you get a stump.
Conclusion, seats are a figurative and literal rip off of chairs.

You are sitting stationary on a planet rotating at over 1,000 mph while orbiting at over 67,000 mph. If you were driving against the world then you’d be going slower than most humans. That means that the fastest way to travel is simply to detach yourself from the Earth’s rotation and let the world come to you so you might as well have a seat. *Points to chair*

Ever notice that whenever you are asked to “take a seat” you are offered a chair which should not be moved? That’s why SEAT cant be sold in America. Yup!

I thought that anything you could sit on, like a chair, couch, bench, stool, etc. was a “seat”. And that “chair” was a subset of that. “Chair” makes me think of a seat that’s designed for one person at a time, and doesn’t necessarily need to have legs, but at least ought to have a backrest. Arms are highly preferred, as they help identify it as a one-person chair.
So all chairs are seats, but not all seats are chairs.

And here I was thinking that it was because Volkswagen was concerned about losing money by selling lower profit margin cars through another brand. Silly me!

But you can also make it come to you faster simply by going in the same direction as the earth’s rotation.

A seat is a place to sit whilst a chair is an object you sit on or make a seat. Hence, a chair would be a seat but a seat might not be a chair.
